Texas Workforce Commission Grant

A strong talent development strategy is the key to any company surviving.  Since our plant is the first of its kind in the entire Coastal Bend area, most of our recruits come in at a beginning level and are trained up the ladder of success.  TEDA TPCO America works diligently with our partners; Texas Workforce Commission and Del Mar College.

Through Del Mar College, we have developed and expanded on a number of training courses that are required within our industry. We completed our first grant with Texas Workforce Commission and Del Mar College in 2015, training the first recruits for Phase I, the End Finishing Facility.  During the first grant, courses were taught at Del Mar College and Craft Training Center by accredited teachers.

We are pleased to announce that the second grant has now been completed in preparation for Phase II.  As part of the second grant, course syllabuses were submitted for approval, our employees credentials were submitted for review and approved as trainers, thus allowing TEDA TPCO America to teach onsite with our own trainers allowing those candidates in training to put the knowledge to use immediately.

Thank you to the Texas Workforce Commission, Del Mar College and our own employees: JoAdrian Vara, Jennifer Armstrong, Joshua Luke, Jose Saiz and Jennifer Thurman for making it happen!  This grant gave TEDA TPCO America over $95,000 in teaching and training supplies.
