Melvin Neugent – Quality Inspector since 9/8/2014
With his gentle demeanor, Melvin is a force to be reckoned with in Quality. He knows the requirements of our pipe backwards and forward. In his free time, Melvin spends quality time with hisfamily fishing, swimming and enjoying bar-b-que. Born in Oklahoma while his father was in the U.S. Army, they moved to the Coastal Bend. Melvin attended grade school through high school in Calallen.
Something you don’t know about Melvin, is that he enjoys breeding and raising geckos! He has bred and created some wonderfully colorful fellows about 8 inches in length. There are trade shows for these geckos and can go anywhere from $400 to $600 each. He and the kids handle them so that they are acclimated to humans. At home they have their own cages, however, one did escape. When they found him he had gone to the cage of a female gecko.
Melvin and his family enjoy Mexican food. He says he cooks Tex-Mex, however his wife cooks authentic. His favorite place to go to dinner is On The Border Mexican Cantina or Chili’s.
Melvin has seen the growth of TEDA TPCO America but understands that it has been a slow growth as compared to the future and sees himself a big part of that growth – and so do we!
Jose Saiz – Shift Lead
Though Jose started with TEDA TPCO America on 9/8/14, he has come up through the ranks. When he started with the Company, he was an Inspector in the Quality Department and now into his current position of Shift Lead. He knows, understands, and can run almost every position in the End Finishing Facility.
Jose is married and has four children (two boys and two girls) spaced evenly apart – ages 16, 14, 12 and 10. He pretends to be the tough dad and says that dating will not be an option with his girls, ha ha. The family enjoys fishing and tent camping as long as their phones are charged.
He attended Alice High School and currently lives in Bishop with the family and three dogs. Any spare time between work and family is enjoyed on the basketball court. When asked if he had $100 to go out to dinner where would he go, he quipped, McDonalds Dollar Menu, however, he really likes the food at Texas Roadhouse.
Jose sees himself on a path of continued growth with the Company and since his knowledge is varied throughout the plant, we see him becoming a part of management.
