1. EMPLOYEE HIGHLIGHTS FOR AUGUST 2018

    Name: Carolyn

    Carolyn

    Department: Purchasing Assistant

Hometown: Born and raised here in the Coastal Bend.

Graduated from Moody High School and went on to Barber school. She’s cut a few famous heads in her time, our own President Liu and Wu, Kaolun…

Hobbies: She’s a ranch girl. Weekends spent on chores in and around the ranch with her family. Her biggest hobby is gambling: slot machines, she once won a $10,000 pot on a $2 bet. We all wish some of that luck would rub off on us.

She has one child, a fur baby. A Boston Terrier named Sadie.

What have you learned while working at TPCOA? She has learned at TPCOA to have an extraordinary amount of patience. She doesn’t find the Chinese culture very different from our own. They have the same likes and dislikes, same praises and gripes and uses that to communicate.

Something that many people aren’t aware of – Carolyn was the Captain of the Women’s Golf Team in High School. She hasn’t played in quite some time but I bet should could find her clubs if you asked.

Why she is such an asset to TPCOA: When she started with TPCOA four years ago, she began her career in the Tool Crib, with her experience and abilities she was promoted into Purchasing where her patience has paid off. She wanted to work for a company where she could grow. As TPCOA grows, we expect to fulfil her dreams. One of her dreams is that she can purchase her own home.

    Name:  Brian

    BrianDepartment:  Production – WMS/CNC Machinist

Hometown:  Also born and raised here in the Coastal Bend, Brian lives with his wife and three girls.

Brian graduated from Callallen High School and became a welder by trade.  He tends to get bored repeating the same thing over and over and decided to come to TPCOA about a year ago.  Since here, he has trained in General Labor, WMS and now CNC.  He enjoys the challenge of learning new and different things.

Hobbies:  Fishing, fishing and fishing.  He enjoys fishing the flats of Nueces Bay.  He also likes to tinker with engines; his dad once went to purchase a new lawn mower because the old one had quit running and while he was gone, Brian was able to work on it and get it running again.   He and his wife like to restore old furniture.

Favorite Food:  Seafood.    If he is going out on the town, he would probably head to Water Street.

Vacation Dreams – Brian would like to take his wife and girls to Disney World.

What have you learned while working at TPCOA?  He believes that the delegates are always go-go-go-go while Americans work for a balanced home/work life.  Something that many people aren’t aware of – Someone once offered Brian the entire fee required to become a professional fishing guide.

Why he is such an asset to TPCOA:  Brian wants to keep learning new and different things – the Chinese want to teach him.  Always one to lend a helping hand with work; big things are expected for Brian’s future.
